The Valley PT Cruisers Club (VPTCC) story
Based in Modesto, California, the Valley PT Cruisers Club is a 100+ member club that was formed in November 2000. The club has sponsored dozens of unique road rallies, but is best known as the host of the Central California PT Cruiserfest; one of the largest events of its kind in the United States. The inaugural Cruiserfest in 2001 drew 206 PTs to Modesto, and the 2002 event attracted 314 registered and 105 non-registered Cruisers! Cruiserfest #3 was on May 30-June 1, 2003 and we had over 600 PT Cruisers! The Sunday Parade in downtown Modesto had a count of 625 PT Cruisers and was the largest ever PT Cruiser Parade! In 2004, 2005 and 2006 the numbers were down to the 350-400 numbers again. The popularity of new events all over the United States made it hard to choose just one event and cruisers found themselves traveling all over to experience something new.
Our members enjoy cruising with a variety of other PT clubs in California and welcome anyone and everyone to join us on our club-sponsored cruises.
It's all about 'PT People' that make our get-togethers so enjoyable and memorable.
The Valley PT Cruisers are also about giving back to the community. In December 2001, the club donated over $400 worth of toys to a needy family via the Salvation Army. And following the success of the 2002 Cruiserfest, the club donated $6000 to the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Each year we try to find a worthy cause and make a contribution; whether it is a small one or large one. In 2006, we collected over $2500 in donations from club members and the community and delivered the goods to the V.A. Hospital in Livermore on Veterans Day. Other contributions made in 2006 were: toys for needy families, canned food drive, as well as various other contributions. Our members are very generous when called upon !!
The Valley PT Cruisers know their parades, too! Our first appearance was at the Sonora Mother Lode Parade in May, 2001, where the club received a 3rd place ribbon. The past two Modesto 4th of July Parades have been good to the club, garnering two 1st place trophies in a row in the Classic Car category. We have also participated in the Discovery Bay Parade of Lights several years in a row. No one knows more about car decorating than PT Cruiser owners!
Our annual dues is $20. You will receive a monthly newsletter, club flag, club decal and discounted entry fee into Cruiserfest 2007. If you are interested in joining, please click on the Join Us link above for an application.
